| Well, I'm becoming overly tired of stupid high school drama. It's really wearing on me, and I'm just ready for it to all end. I'm especially tired of girls who like to hold grudges and not work things out. In fact, in stead of doing anything productive or helpful to the current situation, they decide to whip cream and toilet paper my car...Actually, I'll admit that gave me a good laugh. I pulled into the drive way as they were doing it. Have you ever seen 5 juinors in high school with eyes as wide as the Grand Canyon running in 8 different directions 'cause they have no idea if you're an adult or not? It is quite humorous to watch. The annoying part of it is that they did it for "revenge" because I've been "treating us like crap." Yeah...okay, Elaine. I think it's time for you to settle down and grow up. Quit resorting to such childish things as whip creaming a car and instead, face the conflict and sort it out like a grown up. | | |
| So, my school is so legalistic that we don't even have a prom. You see, proms involve dancing and music. As we all know those things are of the Devil. So instead of a prom, we have a senior banquet. Basically, we all get dressed up and go out to eat dinner at a somewhat-fancy restraunt. The last two years haven't been very impressive. But it's the kinda thing that I've got to go to, 'cause I'm a senior, and it's the senior banquet. That's just how life works. I asked Rach if she wanted to go. She said yeah, but then it turned out that she'd be out of town. So that fell through terribly. Now I've asked Melanie, and she hasn't gotton back to me yet. I'm expecting a no, but I've always been a bit pessamistic. My bud Sam has said we're gonna have to go together, bachelor style. I'm thinking I'll take a few more rejections before I succumb to going stag. But Sam's already been turned down five times. Yikes. I have the oddest feeling, I'm next. But that's okay. Sam and I are gonna rent a bus if we go stag. That should be a good memory. So I guess I say all this just to lead up to one very important question. Any girls out there wanna come to the banquet with me? | | |
| Today I learned the word recalcitrant. As in "Mr. Hall, you are recalcitrant." That's what Mr. Thal said to me today in class. Here's what it means, "Obstinately defiant of authroity or restraint." Apperantly it is a very recalcitrant thing to miss two class periods, therefore not know the homework, and therefore not turn in the assignments. It's alright though, Mr. Thal's cool; one of my favorite teachers, really. You know, he once called me a sadist. I had to look that word up too. Sadism is a "delight in cruelty." So I'm getting used to all these new words he's laying down on me. | | |
| I like baseball. It's the most boring sport ever created to watch, but playing's not so bad. Actually, I'm only playing this season 'cause it's the American pastime. And no matter what you think about a sport, you have to honor an American past time. Not enjoying a game of baseball would be like not eating apple pie at a picnic, or not watching fireworks on the 4th. Some things are just ingrained into our grand American heritage. So even though I haven't played baseball since I was 8 years old, and I didn't even own a glove until about 3 weeks ago, oh, and I have no idea how to run the bases apperantly, I'm still enjoying this good ol' game. | | |
